Featured Box: Crossfit BattleCry
A battle cry is a word or phrase shouted by soldiers going into battle to express solidarity and intimidate the enemy. It can also be defined as a slogan expressing the ideals of people promoting a cause.
What’s the battle cry of the CrossFit movement?
Perhaps CrossFit BattleCry puts it best, “There is no secret formula for success. There is only dedication, hard work, and perseverance. These are the principals that turn dreams into reality. As CrossFitters, we accept this and vow to push forward in spite of the obstacles life may throw our way. We see every day as an opportunity to fight for the lives we desire. Within our struggles, entrenched in our challenges, we discover our greatest qualities. We forge our character and help others to do the same, because the greatest things in life are often sought with blood, sweat, and tears. We will succeed because we are willing! This is our BATTLECRY!”
CrossFit is more than physical fitness. It’s a lifestyle.
The CrossFit community holds to a belief that goal-oriented fitness is not easy, but it is for everyone. All it takes is commitment. And you can expect your results to reflect your effort. At Europa Sports, we see firsthand how this mentality translates to running a successful CrossFit box. You get out what you put in. But you don’t have to take our word for it.

Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit? When did you open your Box?
A: I opened my Box about three years ago. I have been involved with CrossFit for seven years total.
Q: Why did you decide to open a Box?
A: I started working at Armor CrossFit after relocating to Florida from New York. Members started asking me if I had thought about opening my own Box. And I jumped at the opportunity.
Q: What are the biggest challenges to operating a Box? The greatest rewards?
A: The biggest challenge is the amount of time it takes. I have three kids. It can take a toll when you operate your own business. The good thing is that we are very family-friendly. We have an area just for kids. We all bring our kids while we work out. The biggest reward is the relationships and friendships. These are my friends and family. We even get together outside of CrossFit for poker nights or Bunco.
Q: What are the biggest changes you’ve seen since you started CrossFit?
A: It’s more commercialized. When I started, it was more underground. Now it’s on TV and we have the Grid League.
Q: How long have you worked with Europa?
A: We have worked with Europa for about 2.5 years. We wanted a retail space to provide members with supplements. So they wouldn’t have to go to other places. That’s why we started our own store.
Q: How did you learn/hear about Europa?
A: Europa worked with Armor CrossFit when I was a Coach at their Box.
Q: How has selling supplements contributed to the success of your business?
A: We’re able to support everything our athletes are looking to accomplish. There are a lot of supplements to choose from. We know the products so we are able to have the experience on our side and share with our athletes. It helps us provide a more complete service.
Q: What products do you carry?
A: Quest, Lenny and Larry’s, Proteins, ProtoCrunch, MusclePharm, Fit Aid and Celisus.
Q: What is your top SKU?
A: Fit Aid.
Q: What advice do you have for Boxes regarding sports nutrition?
A: If your Box isn’t carrying sports supplements then you are leaving money on the table. Your members are looking for products. You can provide them. You can guide them and give them products you believe in.
Q: How do you educate your athletes on sports nutrition?
A: We hold workshops, email newsletters and each month, try to focus on a sports nutrition tip. We provide recipes, and when we get together, we bring healthy options to eat.
